June Announcements

Summer is always an exciting time at the library. We have a lot of things going on this month. Be sure to check out our Children's Programs if you have kids or grandkids in town. We have activities for Teens, as well. Don't have a library card? Summer cards are available for only $5 and good from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

We have a new Beanstack challenge for the summer. With our theme of Color Our World focusing on art, we decided to read graphic novels for our summer book club. We also have a new opportunity for a little fun. Fridays at 11am, we invite you to come out and play board games. Our usual slate of programs continues, but check dates and times. We also have some friends joining us for a lecture and a book signing this month. Keep reading for more information and links to register when necessary. A flyer with the summer's Adult progams is available at the Main Desk, or pick up June's calendar.

To go along with our Color Our World theme, this summer we're doing a weekly prize giveaway. Once a day, when you check out something from the library, you'll be able to enter for that week's Paint-By-Number Kit. The kits include instructions, paints, brushes, canvas, and a display hanger. This give away is open to all ages.

This June the library will once again be participating in PA/OH Gives through the Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH. This is one of just two major fundraisers that the library does each year, so I hope you'll consider being a part of what the library can do in our community. Giving Week is June 21-27. More information will be forthcoming, but you can keep an eye on their website for a countdown.

Also, please remember, our summer hours are in effect. Saturdays we will close at 1:30pm instead of 4:30pm. All other hours remain the same. The library will be closed on June 19 for Juneteenth.

The Friends of the Library will begin collecting books for their booksale on June 16 at the First United Methodist Church on Clinton Street. This is the same place the sale has been for the past few years, next to the post office. They'll once again be collecting on Mondays from 1-3pm, Wednesdays from 6-8pm, and Fridays from 10am-Noon.

I hope to see you soon!
