October News
October Announcements
Last month we added 223 new items to our collection and hosted over 50 programs across all age groups to further our mission to make a positive contribution to the cultural and intellectual life of our Greenville area and the personal enrichment of its residents. We have a lot on deck for October, too. I hope you'll find something interesting to do or to read or to listen to at the library this month.
We have a few physical changes coming. You might have noticed one already if you've been in the Fiction room. Some of your favorite authors may have moved as we've made a little more room on the shelves, so look up, down, or even around at another shelf. If you're having trouble finding a book, just ask us. We'll be happy to help you.
Upcoming Fundraiser
The library is holding our 6th Annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theater fundraiser. This year's show, "One Life To Lose" written by Kathryn Miller Haines, will be held on Friday, November 13 at 6:30pm at Thiel College's Lutheran Heritage Room.
When television’s highest rated soap opera faces technical difficulties, the actors must mount an outrageous live performance in which everything becomes real -- even the murder!
You can purchase tickets online or at the library. Tables seat 8; larger parties will be split between tables. This event is 21+. The doors will open at 6pm.
We will also, once again, have a basket raffle at the library at the end of October through the event. Baskets will be on display at the library and raffle tickets for sale at the Main Desk. Tickets will also be sold at the event and the drawing held at the end of the evening. You do not need to be present to win.
Important Dates
The library will close early on Friday, October 16 for staff training. We'll be open 9am-3pm that day and resume normal hours for Saturday, October 17.
I hope to see you soon!
