July's quilt block is the Double Friendship Star. The Friendship Star quilt block is a nine-patch. When someone moved away, their friends would each make a block and sign the center before assembling the quilt. We'll be doing a slight variation, making it a double star.

If you're cutting at home to sew with us, you'll need three fabrics. Fabric A is the main star, B is background/corners, and C is the 2nd star.

• Fabric A: 2 (5 1/2) inch squares 

• Fabric B: 1 (5 1/2) inch square

• Fabric C: 1 (5 1/2) inch square

• Fabric A: 1 (4 1/2) inch square

• Fabric B: 4 (4 1/2) inch squares
